Reviews and Ratings
I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean, and offered amazing value for money. The warm ambiance and the beautiful Beer garden by the river were truly memorable. The service was top-notch with a lovely village vibe, and the central location in Cartmel was just perfect for exploration.
My stay at this hotel was absolutely perfect. The rooms were above the kitchen and came with the lovely Farrer's coffee, making it a spotless and affordable choice for a short stay in Cartmel. It was literally the nicest break I've ever had.
The hotel had some pleasant aspects, like well-appointed rooms and warm hospitality. However, the overall condition of the accommodation was disappointing considering the price paid. The service was courteous but seemed to acknowledge the property's shortcomings. The location was great for exploring nearby attractions, but there were some minor issues with the room's amenities. Dining experiences had their ups and downs, and the facilities offered were decent but not exceptional.
The hotel's location was ideal as a base for exploring the lakes, with convenient parking in Cartmel. The rooms, while tired and 1970s with minimal facilities, had an interesting loft design but were not the most comfortable. The service from the welcoming and helpful staff was exceptional. Dining had good menus, but some dishes fell short like the 'sourdough' being basic sliced bread. The hotel was close to Morecambe Bay, offering easy access to various attractions but had some noise disturbance issues.
The hotel rooms were a little tired looking but had everything we needed, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect for exploring the area, and the dining experience was good overall. However, the rooms were in need of a makeover and were cold upon arrival due to an open window. The breakfast options were limited, especially for vegetarians.
The hotel had character, but the room was in need of an update. The service was fantastic, but the recent room decoration was not well done. The location was amazing for exploring the Lake District, yet the dining experience fell short with limited choices. Overall, a stay with mixed feelings.
The hotel was right across from the Priory Hotel, so it got noisy with a drunken karaoke venue at night. I wish they had lampshades on the bedside tables for better reading. The room was small and outdated, but considering the great rate we got, it wasn't a huge surprise.
The hotel rooms were lovely, very clean, spacious, and warm, but the insulation was thin, making it noisy, and the dining options were limited. The service was fantastic, with attentive and helpful staff even during a power cut. The location in the center of Cartmel village was amazing, offering beautiful decor and easy access to local attractions. The dining experience was decent but could be improved for vegetarians. Overall, a great spot with some minor drawbacks.
Staying at the hotel was a unique experience, like being in a Cistercian monk's cell. The rooms, although in need of a makeover, were incredibly comfortable and spotlessly clean. The exceptional food smells from the kitchen added to the ambiance, making it unforgettable.
